Well, it looks like MGM is finally making an effort to get everybody’s favorite killer doll on our HD movie screens. Today, MGM/UA announced that they will be releasing the original 1988 Child’s Play on Blu-ray disc on September 15th. There’s no word yet if it’s going to be a typical bare-bones MGM release with no special features, or if they’re going to do a high-def version of the Chucky’s 20th Birthday DVD. Here’s hoping they do the latter.
Now that MGM is releasing the original Child’s Play, all we need is for Universal to get off their asses and release the rest of the Child’s Play movies. My Seed of Chucky HD DVD is lonely sitting by itself on my movie shelf.
